3. Quotes & Estimates
All written quotes and estimates provided by Sasquatch Carpentry are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Estimates are based on the scope of work as described at the time of consultation and are subject to change if the project scope changes.
Please note: An estimate is not a fixed price. Final costs may vary based on unforeseen site conditions, material price changes, or client-directed changes to the scope of work.
A detailed written project agreement will be provided prior to commencement of any significant work. This agreement will outline the agreed scope, timeline, and payment schedule.
4. Payment Terms
Payment terms will be outlined in your project agreement. Standard terms are as follows:
- A deposit may be required to secure your project start date and cover initial material costs
- Progress payments are due as outlined in the project agreement
- Final payment is due upon project completion and client walkthrough
- Overdue accounts may be subject to a late payment fee
Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of your project agreement. Sasquatch Carpentry reserves the right to pause work on any project where payment milestones are not met.
5. Changes & Cancellations
Any changes to the agreed scope of work must be requested in writing and approved by both parties. Changes may affect the project timeline and total cost. A change order will be issued for any additions or modifications.
If a client wishes to cancel a project after work has commenced, they are responsible for payment of all work completed and materials purchased or ordered to that point. Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been sourced or scheduling commitments have been made on your behalf.
6. Materials & Supply
Unless otherwise agreed, Sasquatch Carpentry will source all materials required for your project. Material selections will be discussed and confirmed with the client prior to purchase.
Sasquatch Carpentry is not responsible for delays caused by material shortages, supply chain disruptions, or manufacturer lead times. We will communicate proactively if any such delays are anticipated.
Any client-supplied materials must be confirmed in writing in advance. Sasquatch Carpentry accepts no liability for defects or failures arising from client-supplied materials.
7. Limitation of Liability
Sasquatch Carpentry carries appropriate liability insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage for all employees and contractors working on your project. Proof of insurance is available upon request.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sasquatch Carpentry’s total liability in connection with any project shall not exceed the total amount paid by the client for the specific work giving rise to the claim.
Sasquatch Carpentry is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including lost use or income, arising from delays, defects, or project interruptions beyond our reasonable control.
Please note: Clients are responsible for obtaining any required permits unless otherwise agreed in writing. Sasquatch Carpentry can assist with permit applications as part of a general contracting agreement.
8. Warranty
Sasquatch Carpentry warrants that all work will be completed in a professional and workmanlike manner, in accordance with applicable building codes and standards in British Columbia.
Our workmanship warranty covers defects in labour and installation for one (1) year from the date of project completion. Material warranties are governed by the respective manufacturer’s terms.
- Warranty claims must be submitted in writing within the warranty period
- The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or normal wear and tear
- Work performed or modified by a third party after project completion voids this warranty
9. Intellectual Property
All custom designs, drawings, plans, and project documentation created by Sasquatch Carpentry remain the intellectual property of Sasquatch Carpentry unless explicitly assigned in writing.
Clients grant Sasquatch Carpentry the right to photograph completed work for portfolio, marketing, and promotional purposes. If you prefer your project not be featured, please notify us in writing prior to project completion.
